2014 MTN Project Fame’s Klem signed onto Xtra Large Music Label; releases ‘Makoma’
Ghana-based Record Label, Xtra Large Music has signed its first male singer called Klem and has released his first single, ‘Makoma’ (My heart) – produced by celebrated producer, JMJ Baby.
Klem, is a former housemate of the MTN Project Fame West Africa Competition has a phenomenal music talent and he is not just a singer but a Songwriter & a Performing Artiste as well.
Born Clement Kofi Akuoko Sarpong Baafi; Klem was among the 3 Ghanaians selected against 15 Nigerians in a fierce music competition and eventual fame.
Becoming the people’s favorite, his name, ‘Clemento’ became the regular chant by the studio audience after each of his thrilling performances upon which the Faculty president, Joke Silva also sweetly called him.
He made history for being the first contestant in Project Fame West Africa to record a broken leg as an occupational hazard for reality TV singers.
And he just had to perform Michael Bolton’s ‘Back on My Feet’. Appearing in a wheelchair on stage, young Clem belted out a heartfelt rendering of the classic, sent the audience into a hushed, goose bump infused trance, and left only a few dry eyes in the studio and home audience.
The International Singer/ Songwriter, Michael Bolton tweeted him right then, while he was still on stage, before the judges could talk; a simple message that said it all: “Thank u so much”.
Klem joins multi-award winning Dancehall Queen, Kaakie and the list of musicians, celebrated Ghanaian producer, JMJ Baby has produced including Kaakie, Samini, Demarco, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Edem, just to name a few.
