JOHANNESBURG – US actress and humanitarian campaigner Angelina Jolie has been made an honorary dame by Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen honoured Angelina Jolie in a Buckingham Palace ceremony.
The Queen made the campaigning actress an honorary dame for her work against sexual violence in war zones and her services to British foreign policy.
She received the award yesterday during a private meeting with the Queen.
The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actress is the first American woman to ever receive the title.
