The African E-News

Featuring Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy on the remix version of his song, ‘Romantic’; Chicago-based Ghanaian/Nigerian artiste, BlackUp’s latest masterpiece has been much-anticipated with the versatility displayed on the song.

Produced by Julz, the song is a composite of his old reggae musical roots growing up on the streets of Accra, fused with a new acquired afro-sound living in the Diaspora.

The remixed song, ‘Romantic’, dives into the point of view of a man expressing his wishful thoughts and feelings to the love of his life for when they meet again.

Blackup’s fusion of different dialects recited over the Afro-beat and Dancehall rhythm creates a unique sound and style that moves you with the vibe and rhythm.

Born Benard Olafemi Kayede, Blackup was born in Accra a little over a quarter of a century years ago. His parents introduced him to a lot of musical genres including Highlife, Soca, Calypso, Sokouss, Hip-hop, RnB and Dancehall/ Reggae.

This exposure made him become a follower of music at a tender age with particular interests in Dancehall/Reggae genre with a supportive music team, Woj3ga Movement.
