Four Unified Artistes To Rock Tamale Stadium
Astounding Ghanaian reggae legend, Rocky Dawuni has indicated that to be able to eradicate guinea worm totally in the North, a big concert themed ‘the Independence Day Bash ‘has been organized to finally create enough awareness at the Tamale Sport Stadium, 7pm prompt, on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Speaking in an interview with The Heritage, Dawuni noted that over the past few years, his NGO, Africa Live has been involved in the eradication and sanitation advocacy in the North, is being organized by Africa Live with a decisive support and advocacy from UNICEF, Carter Centre, City Link, European Union and Natural Magik planned to possibly crown it with a big concert, to save lives in all parts of the Northern Region. It has Radio Savana, Fyla FM, Diamond FM, Justice FM and Northern Star Radio as its Media Sponsors.
He noted that the concert is also to alert the people on the cholera outbreak, which is getting out of hand by educating them on washing their hands thoroughly well and frequently to save their lives.
According to Dawuni, “it is as well a home coming celebration for me, because it has really been an amazing year and with such Ghanaian musicians as Blakk Rasta, Sherriff Ghalle and Malik of KKC fame as artistes on the bill, it is also to celebrating togetherness.”
He revealed that after the show, he will be in the country for a week and then move to Kenya to perform in concert again set off for another concert in Miami in the United States.
Speaking in interview with The Heritage on what their fans should expect, the well known Blakk Rasta, noted that the show will be filled with pure spirituality and pure fire, “I am going down there on a spiritual mission and to uplift the youth and make the people feel irie with a lot of energy and consciousness, and that is exactly what I am going there for.”
Taking his turn, one of the artistes performing at the show, Sherriff Ghalle, noted that it will be one of the never to forget shows with “the good combination of four united artistes, it is going to be all hot fire throughout with the band and I am sure the people of Tamale will not be able to withstand the heat from the fire we are going to set at the stadium.”
Malik of the KKC group fame said, “our fans should expect massive and marvelous performance from us and expect more than what happened on the last show.”
Commenting on Rocky’s appointment with the Jammin Java Company, Blakk Rasta noted that Rocky Dawuni has been stewarding reggae music in this country for a long time now and “it is a very good representative and we give thanks.”
Sherriff Ghalle also indicated that it is a feeling of accomplishment and hope, “Rocky is an example of what we can achieve as Ghanaians.”
Malik said, “it is lovely to have Rocky part of the Jammin Java Company and I congratulate him for his great works.”
The Heritage has been noted that UNICEF representative and the artistes on the show, yesterday, went on an educational tour at Diary, a suburb of Tamale to alert its inhabitants on the eradication of guinea worm and as well promote the legends new album, ‘Hymns of the Rebel Soul.”
