Jon Germaine On Yvonne Nelson
The news that actress diva, Yvonne Nelson, has been slapped with a one year ban by the Film Producers Association of Ghana, who branded her character as ‘rude behavior’ brought doubts to some colleagues in the creative industry and her fans as to what the actual reason could have been.
Yvonne however, denied being banned saying, “Banned! Who told you that… and I was only shocked when I heard it because I’m human” as captured in an interview with the Spectator Newspaper.
Jon Germain, host of Allo Tigo, who was rumored to have been dating the actress, passionately jumped to her defense saying, “I don’t actually know the reason for her ban but if the reason is because of her arrogant and rude behavior then that shouldn’t be the cause for alarm”, on last week’s edition.
Speaking in an interview with The Heritage, Jon noted that he is a professional broadcaster and will say facts as facts and sees no reason for someone to be banned because of their despicable behaviors, “I mean she must have been arrogant from the day she was born and I am sure they saw the traces of that before using her as an actress.”
He emphasized that he still did not see why she should be banned with reasons as this “unless it is some rules from the Ghana Acting Guild or whatever but even with that, it doesn’t make any effect because most people in all corners of the arts industry are arrogant so that shouldn’t be a reason for anybody to be banned.”
Jon said, “I am not defending her but generally what I am trying to say is that arrogance and rudeness should not be the cause of placing a ban on a person.”
He stated that unlike other broadcasters who speak badly about people they have had issues with before and will not appreciate the person even when they do well, “I don’t do that kind of stuffs.”
He further indicated that in his personal opinion arrogance should not be the cause of slapping a ban on somebody’s daily bread unless “the people who do the movie say she is arrogant so I won’t use her.”
“But to be banned from all movies that will be made in Ghana because of arrogance and rudeness, then I don’t get it and what’s that about”, he asked.
He noted that he did not know of Kofi Adjorlolo ban until he phoned to inform about it which he is yet to know the reason and had no idea that Ekow Smith-Asante, also is on the same thread.
