CONTROVERSIAL HIPLIFE artiste, Kwame Asare Obeng, A-plus, has indicated that together with Brands & Products (B&P) and Konsule Entertainment, they are organizing a peace campaign to sensitize Ghanaians on the need to keep Ghana as peaceful as it is now, before and after the election.
According to him, he had plans to contest as a member of parliament for Gomoa East but on a second thought was enthused to rather come up with this movement due to the fact that he cannot run away and “as a matter of fact, since I don’t know how to run, neither will my life be spared should there be any violence in this country and I believe that we (Ghanaians) must not allow those influential people in the country disturb the peace we are enjoying.”
Speaking to The Heritage, A-plus noted that there will be mounting of billboards with the inscriptions of ‘I support a peaceful election 2012’ all over which will involve every prominent person in the country to be on at least one billboard and that will be an indirect way of endorsing and having them be a part of the campaign as a whole.
He further indicated that they will heighten the campaign through a regional float, conferences and also give out hand bands and white flags with the message to be worn and hanged on cars, offices and everywhere possible to help create the awareness wildly all over the country.
“Our main objective of holding this movement is also to have the peace campaign louder to overtake various political campaigns during their preparations towards the elections and at the end, we all will be happy to have been a part of this advocacy”, he added.
